Position: Physical Therapist Assistant - Geriatric
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional care to our geriatric patients. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients regain and improve their physical abilities. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $33-$37/hour, plus relocation assistance and sign on incentives for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Physical Therapist to develop and implement treatment plans for geriatric patients
- Assist patients with exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and range of motion
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques to continue at home
- Utilize various therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and ethical standards for patient care
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current state license or eligibility for state licensure
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a geriatric setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Up-to-date knowledge of physical therapy techniques and equipment
