Position Overview

We are seeking a Travel Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join a Rehabilitation Therapy team in Biddeford, Maine. The PTA partners with residents and interdisciplinary care providers to deliver physical therapy services that maximize functional abilities and promote independence.

This role requires working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in accordance with physician orders and established plans of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform therapeutic procedures under supervision of the evaluating Physical Therapist

• Implement individualized treatment plans including long- and short-term functional goals

• Monitor treatment effectiveness and progress programs toward established goals

• Modify treatment plans in consultation with the supervising therapist as needed

• Document all therapeutic interactions accurately and timely per department procedures

• Communicate resident status changes to the evaluating therapist immediately

• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings

• Educate residents and caregivers on treatment plans and assistive device use

• Recommend and obtain appropriate assistive devices as needed

• Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and reimbursement regulations

• Maintain infection control standards and department cleanliness

• Complete required compliance training and maintain active licensure and certifications

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

• Active Maine PTA License

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility settings
