About the job Technical Project Manager
As a Technical Project Manager at Vertex IT Solutions, you will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of software projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
You will work closely with engineering teams, product stakeholders, QA, and DevOps to manage timelines, mitigate risks, and drive execution in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
This role is ideal for someone who has a strong technical background, understands modern software architectures, and can effectively translate business requirements into actionable technical plans.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Delivery
- Own and manage end-to-end project lifecycle from requirement gathering to production release.
- Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with high quality.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining visibility and control over progress.
2. Technical Collaboration & Decision Support
- Work closely with engineering teams to understand system architecture, technical challenges, and dependencies.
- Participate in technical discussions including architecture decisions (monolith vs microservices, scalability, etc.).
- Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly communication for stakeholders.
- Ensure performance, scalability, and security considerations are included in planning.
3. Agile & Process Management
- Lead Agile processes including sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Ensure proper task breakdown, estimation, and sprint commitments.
- Track project progress using tools like Jira, ClickUp, or similar.
- Continuously improve team efficiency by implementing best practices and process optimizations.
4. Risk & Issue Management
- Identify potential project risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies early.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to avoid delivery delays.
- Handle production issues, blockers, and escalations efficiently.
- Manage scope creep and ensure proper change management processes.
5. Stakeholder & Communication Management
- Act as the primary point of contact between clients, product teams, and engineering teams.
- Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and progress to stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and handle conflicting priorities effectively.
- Facilitate clear communication across cross-functional and distributed teams.
6. DevOps, QA & Release Coordination
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployment planning, and release management.
- Ensure QA processes, testing strategies, and automation practices are integrated into delivery.
- Oversee release cycles, versioning, and production deployments.
7. Team Leadership & Ownership
- Drive accountability and ownership within engineering teams.
- Mentor team members and promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Ensure alignment between business goals and technical execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 6–10 years of experience in software development and project management roles.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Prior experience as a Technical Project Manager, Engineering Lead, or similar role.

Hands-on experience or strong understanding of:
- Frontend & Backend technologies (Angular, React, Node.js, Java, etc.)
- APIs, microservices architecture, and system design
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with project management tools like Jira, ClickUp, Trello, or similar.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with distributed teams and international clients is a plus.
- PMP, Scrum Master, or Agile certifications are a plus.
- Willingness to work onsite in Gulberg II, Lahore, during night/evening shift aligned with U.S. hours.
