About the job Chief Financial Officer
Chief Financial Officer
CHC Australia
CHC Australia is a commercially minded, purpose-driven not-for-profit reshaping the future of affordable housing across the ACT and surrounds. With a development pipeline to drive both social and commercial outcomes, CHC is entering a phase of transformation and seeking an experienced CFO to help lead it. For you, as someone who thrives on meaningful work, managing risk and strategy in complex financial structures, this offers a real opportunity to make a lasting impact.
This is not your typical NFP finance role. As CFO, you will be central to CHCs executive team, shaping strategy, embedding systems, and ensuring sustainable growth at a commercial pace. You'll be hands-on, rolling up your sleeves to lead everything from ERP implementation and liquidity management, to risk, compliance, and board engagement. You'll work alongside an highly effective CEO, Chief Development & Commercial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and a professional, values-aligned board engaged in delivering outcomes.
You will blend your financial leadership with purpose and transformation here, playing a key role in guiding CHC through critical growth while directly contributing to something that matters: helping people access safe, affordable housing. You'll lead a capable finance team and help embed robust frameworks that will support CHCs operations for years to come.
As a CPA or CA-qualified senior finance professional you bring a depth of experience across the full transaction lifecycle, including but not limited to structuring finance for infrastructure and/or property transactions. Ideally, this includes experience accessing funds from capital markets beyond traditional banks. Your proven ability to navigate and structure complex financial deals will be vital as CHC accelerates its strategic ambitions. Underpinning your technical expertise, is a strong values alignment and you are a strategic thinker who knows how to align finance with mission driven outcomes.
This is a critical executive leadership role, and CHC is committed to offering a competitive remuneration package to secure the right person. As a guide, the base salary is expected to commence from $250,000, with additional benefits including superannuation, PBI salary packaging (valued up to $15,900 annually), a Christmas shutdown (without leave deduction), secure parking, wellbeing support, and relocation assistance where appropriate. We encourage you to apply or reach out for a confidential discussion if this opportunity aligns with your aspirations as the remuneration will ultimately reflect the capability and experience of the successful candidate.
