The ACT AoD-MH Alliance is a collaborative, cross-sector initiative between ATODA and MHCC ACT, funded to improve service experience for people experiencing both alcohol and other drug (AoD) and mental health (MH) concerns.

As Sector Engagement Lead you are someone equally comfortable drafting policy briefs, coordinating systems that ensure the success of the program, and fostering communities of practice that build trust, capability, and culture across two essential service sectors.

This is a relational and supporting role. You will work closely to the Program Manager to coordinate systems to ensure the program governance requirements are met, help facilitate Communities of Practice, support sector engagement, and contribute to key communications and policy outputs. The work is varied, meaningful and designed to support real system change.

What youll do:

  • Provide secretariat support for governance groups, tracking actions, issues and strategic progress
  • Coordinate sector learning spaces like Communities of Practice and Learning Circles
  • Support the development of clinical governance frameworks, service models, and shared tools
  • Develop and manage communications across the Alliance portal and stakeholder network
  • Write, synthesise and contribute to policy briefs, position papers, and practice recommendations
  • Foster collaboration and accountability across mental health and AoD partners

What were looking for:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to enable sector communication, data gathering to drafting policy and facilitating sensitive discussions
  • Confidence navigating the complexity of systems reform, sector politics and relationships
  • Experience supporting or coordinating cross-agency working groups, forums or practice communities
  • A values-driven, relational approach
  • An understanding of (or strong interest in) the co-occurring space and the realities of working across clinical, community, and government settings

Terms: Full-time, SCHADS Level 5. Fixed-term to June 2027. Canberra-based, with flexibility.
