Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Toolmaker to join our client's manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds that are essential to our production processes. Duties

  • Design and develop custom tools, dies, fixtures, and molds using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD to meet specific manufacturing requirements.
  • Conduct detailed inspections of tools using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges; interpret schematics and technical drawings with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
  • Fabricate tooling parts through welding, fabrication, or assembly processes utilizing hand tools and fabrication equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of tool specifications, schematics, maintenance logs, and calibration records.
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues during production runs; perform repairs or modifications to optimize performance and lifespan.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Toolmaker or in a similar manufacturing role with strong mechanical knowledge.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD for designing tooling components.
  • Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints; understanding of GD&T principles.
  • Experience operating precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other gauges.
  • Strong math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and dimensions.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, welding equipment, assembly procedures, and fabrication methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot tooling issues efficiently.
