Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop CNC programs for mills based on drawings and models
  • Analyze drawings, blueprints, and design data in order to calculate correct part dimension for machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates
  • Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment. Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements
  • Interact with computer-based controllers (conversational and G&M code) to enter and/or edit job programs and tool selection information
  • Work with operators to optimize machine capabilities
  • Plan, understand, and interpret drawings, specifications, material, and operating instructions before and while running operations and equipment
  • Produce and inspect parts against drawings specifications within time allotted; ensuring product meets specified quality standards
  • Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work to drawings
  • Verify initial product quality checks and complete all processing operations
  • Inspect parts against blueprints and specifications; ensuring product meets specified quality standards
  • Update related paperwork (work orders and in-process inspection sheets) upon completion of tasks
  • Ability to stand and operate machinery throughout the duration of shift, except for scheduled breaks
  • Ability to lift required objects with or without assistance, turn, load/unload required objects
  • Demonstrate safe work habits
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner
  • Maintain current, overall, and job specific trainings and requirements
  • Assist in other departments as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Detail oriented
  • Manage time with little to no supervision, self-motivated
  • Basic math and trigonometry skills
  • Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities
  • Proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming
  • AS9100 Quality compliance, understanding, and commitment
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience
  • Experience working with three (3) and five (5) axis equipment machining aluminum and steel
