Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, supporting new product introductions, managing related projects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including Safety, Production, Material Planning, Quality Engineering, and Leadership to ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective operations.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing Process Development & Support

Design and implement efficient manufacturing processes using Lean principles.

Define, document, and sequence all tasks required within each manufacturing step.

Identify, quote, and procure materials, tools, and fixtures required for production.

Collaborate with Design Engineering to revise engineering drawings and BOMs for manufacturability and accuracy.

Estimate process cycle times, throughput capacity, and workforce needs.

Coordinate with Production Planning to manage material replenishment and ERP routing updates.

Integrate quality control checkpoints into production processes.

Develop and maintain detailed work instructions; ensure accurate implementation on the shop floor.

Support the use of visual management systems to drive operational awareness.
2. New Product Introduction

Participate in design reviews, offering input to enhance manufacturability.

Interpret engineering drawings to define process steps and tooling requirements.

Support R&D activities and test new manufacturing methods.

Perform sample runs and validation testing prior to production release.
3. Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction

Plan and execute cost-saving initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Lead or contribute to Lean and Kaizen events aimed at process improvement and waste reduction.

Monitor and report on progress of continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience

Bachelors degree in Engineering or 7+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.

Experience with ERP systems, including BOM and routing creation/maintenance.

Proficiency with engineering design tools (e.g., CAD software).

Project management experience preferred.

Six Sigma certification is a plus.
