CNC Machinist Programmer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist Programmer with expertise in G-code and M-code programming for our customer in Dayton, OH. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes to produce high-precision components according to engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program CNC lathes using G-code and M-code to meet production requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files to determine machining processes.
• Set up and operate CNC lathes, ensuring tight tolerances and precision are met.
• Perform tooling selection, fixture setup, and machine adjustments as needed.
• Conduct first article inspections and ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot programming and machining issues to optimize production efficiency.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine machine maintenance to prevent downtime.
• Work closely with engineers, quality control, and production teams to improve processes.
• Follow safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 3+ years of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist/Programmer.
• Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming.
• Experience with CNC controllers such as Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or Okuma (preferred).
• Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.).
• Experience with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
