Twin Resources is recruiting for an experienced Production Supervisor to lead Press and Weld operations for a growing manufacturing company. Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the Press and Weld departments, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations are consistently achieved. This individual will lead, coach, and develop employees while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, schedule, supervise, and coordinate daily operations within the Press and Weld departments.
- Coach, mentor, and develop production employees through effective communication, training, and performance management.
- Ensure production meets quality standards and support compliance with ISO/TS16949 quality systems and company policies.
- Monitor department performance, productivity, and key metrics to achieve operational goals and budget expectations.
- Identify training needs and support employee development through ongoing coaching and skills improvement.
- Monitor production costs, including overtime, scrap, and rework, and communicate concerns to plant leadership.
- Coordinate with Scheduling, Maintenance, Tooling, and other departments to ensure materials, tooling, and equipment are available to support production.
- Enforce company policies while promoting a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment.
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.
- Conduct employee evaluations, provide performance feedback, and address attendance, quality, and behavioral concerns as needed.
- Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for meeting departmental objectives.
- Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, attendance, and a strong commitment to safety.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Experience in a press shop, metal stamping, or welding environment required.
- Knowledge of robotic welding and industrial automation is a plus.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement principles, and quality management systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Steel-toe shoes and safety glasses are required in production areas.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the plant for extended periods.
- Ability to maintain accurate production records and complete basic computer-based reporting.
