Position Overview
Twin Resources is partnering with a well-established manufacturing client to identify a highly hands-on, self-directed Press Room & Tooling Manufacturing Engineer. This role is deeply embedded on the production floor and plays a critical role in optimizing press performance, improving tooling reliability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
This facility operates a broad range of stamping presses (165 to 1,600 tons), providing exposure to complex tooling systems and diverse production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve press and tooling issues in real time to minimize downtime
- Support tool room activities including die repair, preventative maintenance, and performance optimization
- Maintain and update tooling documentation and prints (CAD required; 3D modeling preferred)
- Lead initiatives focused on setup reduction, uptime improvement, quality enhancement, and operational efficiency
- Work directly on the production floor to evaluate processes, identify constraints, and implement improvements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with tool room personnel, operations, engineering, sales, and plant leadership
- Coordinate and oversee outsourced tooling projects as needed
- Provide training and mentorship to junior team members and technicians
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience within metal stamping and tooling environments
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities
- CAD proficiency required (3D modeling experience strongly preferred)
- Hands-on, team-oriented approach with effective communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed

- Die design and/or tool room background
- Experience working with servo press technology
