Position Overview
Twin Resources is partnering with a well-established manufacturing client to identify a highly hands-on, self-directed Press Room & Tooling Manufacturing Engineer. This role is deeply embedded on the production floor and plays a critical role in optimizing press performance, improving tooling reliability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

This facility operates a broad range of stamping presses (165 to 1,600 tons), providing exposure to complex tooling systems and diverse production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve press and tooling issues in real time to minimize downtime
  • Support tool room activities including die repair, preventative maintenance, and performance optimization
  • Maintain and update tooling documentation and prints (CAD required; 3D modeling preferred)
  • Lead initiatives focused on setup reduction, uptime improvement, quality enhancement, and operational efficiency
  • Work directly on the production floor to evaluate processes, identify constraints, and implement improvements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with tool room personnel, operations, engineering, sales, and plant leadership
  • Coordinate and oversee outsourced tooling projects as needed
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior team members and technicians

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience within metal stamping and tooling environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities
  • CAD proficiency required (3D modeling experience strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on, team-oriented approach with effective communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed

Preferred Experience

  • Die design and/or tool room background
  • Experience working with servo press technology
