Role Title: B2B Transport Senior Engineer

B. CONTEXT
Purpose: The B2B Transport Consultant provides technical expertise in the planning, design, and optimization of U9 transport network infrastructure connected via IP multi-protocol label switching (IP MPLS) technology. This position is responsible for preparing High Level Design and Low-Level Design for this network and ensuring design plans are accurately executed by vendors. This position needs to handle the various demands from B2B sale team and providing the requirement based on the feasibility of the network. Support B2B team to design and create new product from technical side. Support B2B team for feasibility checks such as connectivity and capacity for both fiber and MW.
Context: Technology & Information is responsible for development and planning of the long/medium term technology network roadmap and architecture for both network and IT in line with corporate overall strategic requirements and technology strategy and to ensure that all network and it projects are aligned with the medium-term Network roadmap. The B2B Transport Consultant plays an important supporting role in planning and designing this asset and ensuring vendors follow through on project plans to maintain and build this network.
C. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Transport Network Design and Planning
- Prepare high level design (HLD) for IP MPLS network and low-level design (LLD) including command level configuration
- Participate in Proof of Concept (PoC) testing to connect different vendors to U9 IPMPLS nodes
- Prepare inter-operability test between IPMPLS with all interconnected devices
- Prepare MOP to operation to execute required configuration and solution for live network
- Prepare IPMPLS guidelines covering HLD to LLD for IPMPLS network including all connect NEs
- Collaborate with internal technology teams including Fiber DWDM, MW, core, and IT for required design input
Transport Network Monitoring & Optimization
- Audit network resiliency and propose solutions for unprotected traffic
- Dimension IPMPLS network based on Core and RAN network
- Monitor IP NEs and links utilization and trigger upgrade as per agreed utilization (70 – 80%)
- Respond to ad-hoc troubleshooting support requests in case of major outage
- Assist with network capacity forecasting on expected usage and demand
- Maintain Network security at high-level
D. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- All projects and duties delivered according to approved scope and timeline
- Network NEs, IP links utilization maintained at 70% without any bottle neck for more than 2 weeks.
E. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS & DECISION MAKING

Internal: Fiber, DWDM, MW, core
External: vendors (ALU (Alcatel Lucent), Huawei or another selected IP vendor)
Decision Making
Approval on HLD/LLD in conjunction with IP Core & B2B Demand Manager
F. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge
- 5 – 8 years' work experience with at least 3 years within telecoms industry in a transport network engineering role
- Strong working knowledge of Ethernet, layer2, layer3switching/VLAN principles
- Deep knowledge and expertise in transmission/transport technologies and trends, network security best practices
- Demonstrated experience preparing HLD/LLD for IP/MPLS networks, preparing scope of work and rollout of transport networks
- Demonstrated experience in FTTH, Metro and Access Network Technologies
- Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining wide area networks with emphasis on the application of IP routing protocols (MPLS/BGP/IS-IS/OSPF)
- Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining L2, L3 virtual circuits btw International NNIs
- Demonstrated experience assisting on transport network monitoring solutions, utilization, and performance optimization across multiple projects
- Multivendor products knowledge especially ALU, Huawei, and ZTE
- General understanding of Enterprise Network setup with relevant voice and data Technologies
Preferred experience and knowledge
- Knowledge of OSPF, BGP, IS-IS and MPLS with experience administering these protocols in small, large, and distributed network
- Knowledge on Fiber technologies like DWDM and Microwave
Minimum Entry Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical engineering field from a recognized university
- Must have CCNP R&S or CCNP Service Provider
- CCIE certification is preferred but not mandatory Preferred
