RAN Design and Solutions Junior Engineer

A. PROFILE

Role Title: RAN Design and Solutions Junior Engineer
Reporting to: RAN Design and Solutions Manager
Division: Network Planning & Operations

B. CONTEXT

Purpose: The RAN Design and solutions junior engineer plans to understand the radio network technology [2G/3G/4G], understand the major KPIs, engineering parameter, basic configuration
Context: RAN Design and Solutions junior engineer oversees KPI congestion, controller report and project coordination. Manage capacity and request expansions, generate strategies to mitigate impact in case of congestion.

C. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Basic understanding and usage of radio technologies such as 2G/3G/4G
• Basic understanding of 2G/3G/4G major KPIs
• Monitoring the network performance new sites or expansion sites
• Propose and track all planning actions (new layer expansions, new sites, proactive solutions etc)
• Close coordination and follow up actions with RAN planning and optimization manager for new design and solutions.
• Close coordination and tracking with MS SOC for improvement actions
• Close coordination and tracking with U9 subcon for activities
• Basic configuration work for new sites, capacity expansion and RRU dismantling.
• Tracking for PR/PO and coordination with supplier and vendors 
• Visit to warehouse, data center and sites based on requirement

D. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

• 99.9% reports are accurate and delivered on time
• BSC/RNC capacity report monitoring (Weekly Basis)
• PS congestion report monitoring (Monthly Basis)
• To support layer expansion actions to improve network performance and user experience.
• Continuous improvement of KPIs/KQIs
• Inter/Intra department communication
• Vendor & subcon management

E. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS & DECISION MAKING

Interacts with: 
Internal: Work closely with other domains' (e.g. RAN, Planning, Core, Transmission, Performance, NOC, SOC). Procurement, legal, finance, commercial and OG counter parts

External: Managed service vendors, project deployment vendors. RAN vendors.

Decision Making

• Strong analytical, organizational and conceptual skills to manage simultaneously a variety of assignments
• Flexibility in a demanding work environment to adapt on changing priorities.

F. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge

• Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in radio network planning and optimization or a closely related field.
• Basic understanding of radio frequency (RF) principles, including signal propagation and coverage optimization.
• Knowledge of 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, or 5G technologies and their network architecture.
• Experience with data analysis and performance metrics related to network optimization.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data.

Minimum Entry Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master's degree and above in Electronics and Communication or relevant fields.
• Fluent in English language (verbal and written)
• Proficiency in using Excel or similar tools for data analysis and reporting.
