Safety Officer
About the job Safety Officer
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct daily safety inspections in production, utilities, warehouse, Logistics and ETP areas
- Identify and report unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions
- Enforce proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for employees, partners and contractors
- Monitor safety compliance on bottling lines, packaging machines, and material handling activities
- Assist in permit-to-work systems (hot work, confined space entry, work at height)
- Support accident, incident, and near-miss reporting and investigations
- Maintain and update safety records, boards, checklists, and inspection reports
- Monitor fire safety systems, emergency exits, and evacuation routes
- Assist in conducting fire drills, emergency mock drills, and safety campaigns
- Ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals, cleaning agents, Utilities and CO systems
- Verify availability and accessibility of SDS/MSDS at work locations
- Verify availability of medical emergency kits at work locations
- Supervise contractor safety compliance during maintenance and project activities
- Conduct toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings and assist in safety induction training for partners/vendors
- Monitor housekeeping standards and compliance by service providers
- Support internal and external HSE audits and inspections
- Support to ensure HSE culture is entrenched and Safety pillar goals
- Report daily safety observations and incidents to the HSE Manager
REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Basic knowledge of industrial safety practices
- Understanding of manufacturing plant hazards
- Familiarity with PPE, fire safety, BBS, and Emergency procedures
- Good observation, reporting and communication skills
- Microsoft Office
QUALIFICATIONS
ISPON Level 3
First Aid training, Fire training or equivalent
Experience in manufacturing / beverage / FMCG plant preferred
