OVERVIEW:
The Sales Executive is a senior professional tasked with leading and managing the sales team to meet the company's sales goals and objectives. This role encompasses the development of strategic sales plans, fostering strong customer relationships, and driving revenue growth. Additionally, the Sales Executive will be instrumental in market analysis, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
JOB PURPOSE:
The role aims to align sales strategies with the company's overall business objectives, enhance sales processes, and contribute to long-term success and profitability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for achieving the sales budgets of the company, including the formulation of budgets by Key Customer in line with the overall company budget and delivering against these budgets.
- Responsible for net return on Customer Accounts, including expense management.
- Management of the Key Account Management team, Sales Representatives, Merchandising Manager, outsourced Merchandisers, and the Internal Sales Team, ensuring that they achieve set company objectives and budgets.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand the companys customer base.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives.
- Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations.
- Understand category-specific landscapes and trends, reporting on the forces that shift tactical budgets and the strategic direction of accounts.
- Negotiate the terms of trade agreements in liaison with the CEO.
- Troubleshoot and address customer issues.
- Collaborate closely with the Sourcing and Marketing teams on developing product ranges and promotions for customers.
- Formulate sales strategies to ensure the company is competitive and innovative.
- Responsible for the successful management of the needs of the companys customers to meet the objectives of the companys overall business plans and strategies.
- Spend a significant amount of time in the trade across all territories, both with individual Key Accounts and sales personnel.
- Keep up to date with recent market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
- Responsible for managing the in-store execution, display, and merchandising functions.
- Develop, implement, and execute relevant customer business plans to achieve company objectives.
- Ensure customer forecasting is done accurately to achieve desired in-fill rates and company stockholding objectives.
- Analyse sales statistics to determine business growth potential.
- Analyse customers to determine the size of categories and opportunities and develop and successfully execute strategies to drive sales based on analysis.
- Address and resolve customer complaints.
- Transfer knowledge and experience to the team, including joint development of strategic plans for the company.
- Perform according to, and achieve objectives in line with, the companys strategic plan.
- Develop FMCG strategies in a non-FMCG environment and generate new ideas and thinking to develop a world-class Key Account approach.
- Utilise existing account management processes and introduce new processes where necessary to improve reporting systems.
- Assist the Finance and Accounts Receivable Teams in ensuring supporting documentation is received timely and any issues are addressed with the customers effectively and efficiently.
