POSITION PURPOSE

Quantity surveyors are responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction

projects. Quantity surveyors manage the costs on a construction/Interior fit out project. They help to ensure that

the construction project is completed within its projected budget.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Review the tender documents/drawings, scope of work, terms and conditions of contract and technical

and material specifications of items.

Analyze the tender drawings, material specs, 3D visuals and extracting into BOQ if BOQ not available.

Quantity take off for all BOQ items especially for Lump sum Offer.

Analysis of rates for labour and material (fixed and variable) and thus assist build up costing, pricing and

analysis of direct and indirect cost for the BOQ items

Floating inquiries to suppliers and subcontractor and getting quote with best prices.

Preparing and maintaining the vendors data base..

Preparing comparison sheet for subcontractors quotations to review the price

Complete Cost Estimation for all Fit-out & Joinery items.

Preparing tender queries list and submitting to consultant if required

Preparing required document for mid tender meeting with consultant/client

Finalizing tender for final review of Estimation Manager

Meeting with Client/Clients Engineer in post tender stage to discuss the submitted Tender.

Preparing Value engineering for tender projects.

Clarification of Post Tender queries raised by consultant/client.

Revising the commercial offer if required

Effective cash management including timely application /certification /invoicing /payment/receipts and
careful administration of subcontract account.

subcontractor through to finalization.

QUALIFICATIONS\REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveyor / Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and similar)
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in the fit out industry. Gulf Experience would be an
added advantage in large scale commercial projects
