The Estimating Manager will oversee and lead the estimating function, managing a team of estimators while ensuring accurate, competitive, and timely project cost estimates. This role requires a detail-oriented leader with strong analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proven track record in construction or landscaping estimation. The Estimating Manager will play a key role in driving profitability, efficiency, and process consistency across the company's projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate estimators to ensure high-quality and timely project cost estimates.
  • Oversee the creation of detailed cost estimates for projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and services.
  • Coordinate the collection of bid inputs from internal departments and subcontractors to fulfill proposals and tenders.
  • Serve as a lead contact for clients and manage relationships with subcontractors and vendors to secure fair pricing and input.
  • Work proactively to keep projects within projected budgets and develop strategies for cost control and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and maintain historical cost data and cost databases to support future budgeting and benchmarking.
  • Implement and manage the organization's estimating process, identifying ways to improve efficiency and standardize procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of estimating experience, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and/or landscaping materials, methods, and cost structures.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
