Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to join our EPC oil & gas client's team. Provides leadership to the project management team, which comprises the project managers, procurement, project control, contracts management, quality assurance/quality control and health/safety and environment teams to ensure successful completion of the project within the parameters of time, budgets and quality.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead proposal preparation, analyze RFQ requirements, and oversee development of technical and commercial proposals.
  • Develop preliminary execution plans and supervise data collection for proposal finalization.
  • Upon project award, prepare and manage detailed project execution plans and strategies; sign off on key planning documents (Level 13 schedules).
  • Oversee project mobilization, resource planning, team setup, and schedule development across all functions (engineering, procurement, construction).
  • Establish and implement plans for HSE, quality, and cost control.
  • Participate in project budgeting and ensure availability of resources to meet performance targets and compliance requirements.
  • Direct project execution through project/area managers ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery.
  • Liaise with client senior management, resolve conflicts, and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Supervise project controls and reporting, including daily/weekly/monthly progress tracking, forecasting, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with contract duration, budget, and performance benchmarks.
  • Provide leadership to contractors and vendors, maintaining high standards of professionalism and compliance.
  • Promote quality culture, conduct regular audits, and enforce non-conformance resolution.
  • Ensure high safety standards and proactive client engagement on HSE matters.
  • Deliver accurate monthly cost reports, forecasting project completion with variance control.
  • Foster teamwork and staff development, including career planning, performance reviews, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Coach senior staff, define development plans, and align training with career progression paths.
  • Lead client, team, and departmental meetings to maintain alignment and resolve issues.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by the organization.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field
  • 15+ years of project management experience in oil & gas, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects valued at $75 million USD or more
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Candidates with ADNOC Project Experience will be given preference
