Job Summary 

We are hiring a Resident Engineer to represent the Developer on-site, overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, safety, and regulations. This role facilitates coordination among consultants, contractors, and stakeholders, while reporting site progress and issues to the Chief Development Officer (CDO).

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Developers technical representative on-site, ensuring that construction activities meet project specifications, quality standards, and approved timelines.
  •  Oversee the work of contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure adherence to design intent, safety protocols, and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor progress, verify milestones, and escalate delays or discrepancies with recommended solutions.
  • Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and material samples in coordination with consultants.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with government authorities for inspections, approvals, and compliance as required by local regulations.
  • Maintain detailed daily and weekly site reports, including progress updates, site issues, safety observations, and corrective actions.
  • Facilitate and document site meetings, ensuring follow-up on action items and resolution of technical or operational challenges.
  • Support cost control by validating on-site quantities and progress certificates in collaboration with the Quantity Surveyor.
  • Provide input on potential design or construction modifications based on site conditions and coordinate approvals accordingly.
  • Will be required to manage multiple sites at one time.

Required Qualifications & Skills 

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in site-based engineering roles, including at least 3-5 years as a Resident Engineer on large-scale real estate or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and UAE regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Proficiency in project management and reporting tools (e.g., Auto desk, MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain firm oversight while fostering collaboration among site teams.
  • UAE Society of Engineers membership or equivalent local accreditation.
  • Experience with mixed-use, hospitality, or residential tower projects.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials is a plus
