Front Office C# Developer | Investment Banking

 Job Description:

The company

A leading global investment bank is expanding its Fixed Income Rates technology platform in Hong Kong and is seeking a Software Engineer to build and maintain business‑critical systems for its trading activities.

The team

You will join an agile feature team that designs, develops, tests, deploys and supports global applications used by Rates traders and sales, covering the full front‑to‑back chain from pricing and RFQ workflows to deal processing and lifecycle events.

The role

You will take ownership of projects, enhance and refactor an existing .NET (C#, WPF) codebase, develop new desktop and web components, contribute to DevOps and continuous delivery pipelines, and work closely with trading desks and sales to translate business challenges into scalable, performant software solutions.

The requirements

  • Hands‑on experience delivering performant software solutions in Finance or similarly complex domains.
  • Strong object‑oriented development skills in .NET, particularly C# (WPF experience a plus).
  • Solid understanding of system design, data structures and algorithms, with a focus on performance, scalability and reliability.
  • Pre‑trade knowledge such as RFQ workflows, product types and related checks is highly valued.
  • Experience in, or exposure to, electronic trading for Rates, FX or Credit products is preferred.
  • Familiarity with continuous delivery / CI platforms (e.g. TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and modern DevOps practices.
  • Strong technical background across databases and middleware components.
  • Additional development experience with Python is a plus.
  • Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud technologies and the Elastic stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash) is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment, coordinating release and change management, and participating in production support rotations.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with both local and global teams, including front‑office users.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Strong client focus, openness, change mindset, risk awareness and a high level of ownership and care.
