The company
A global banking group with a strong equities footprint is expanding its technology capabilities for electronic trading across international desks. You will join a global technology environment supporting production-grade trading applications and modernization initiatives (including cloud migration and UI improvements).
The team
You will work within a global Equities IT team in close coordination with the equity trading desks and business analysts. The team delivers and supports electronic trading systems end-to-end—covering low-latency order management, market access, pricing/volatility fitting tooling, risk controls, and production support.
The role
As an Equity Electronic Trading Developer (C++/C#), you will build and enhance electronic trading applications used by the Equity desk. The scope includes developing performance-critical C++ components (thread-safe, low-latency), integrating C# services, delivering across the full lifecycle (architecture implementation production), and providing real-time production support to ensure stability during market hours.
The requirements
- Advanced C++ and C# proficiency for low-latency / multi-threaded / real-time software development
- Strong understanding of electronic equities workflows, including:
- order management systems
- market access platforms
- pricing engines
- volatility fitting (vol fitting)
- market making and risk controls
- Production mindset: ability to diagnose and resolve issues during market hours; experience implementing monitoring/alerting and fail-safe mechanisms
- Cloud experience is advantageous (e.g., AWS / Azure) and/or exposure to cloud-based modernization
- Technical expertise in designing high-performance, thread-safe components and optimizing reliability/performance through testing, profiling, and performance tuning
- Ability to juggle multiple requests from demanding stakeholders while maintaining quality under pressure
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- English required
- First experience in IT development for the financial industry (preferred/expected)
