The firm invests heavily in modern engineering practices and front-office technology, supporting high-performance trading and risk platforms across asset classes.

The Team

You will join a front-office Equity Derivatives Technology group responsible for building and enhancing real-time trading, pricing, and risk systems. The team partners directly with traders, quants and product specialists, working in a fast-paced environment where technical excellence, reliability and low-latency engineering are essential.

The Role

As a Front Office Developer, you will design and develop core components of equity derivatives platforms using Java or C#. You will contribute to greenfield development, system optimisation, technical architecture discussions and continuous delivery improvements. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building robust front-office systemsnot a business analyst, support or rapid-application (commando) role.

The Requirements

  • Strong hands-on development skills in Java or C#
  • Previous experience in Front Office technology (e.g., trading, pricing or risk systems)
  • Understanding of Equity Derivatives or another derivatives asset class (pricing, lifecycle, risk concepts)
  • Experience with real-time or high-performance systems
  • Solid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and low-latency design
  • Background in building scalable microservices, APIs, or distributed components
  • Familiarity with modern development practices: CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps tooling
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with traders, quants and other IT teams
  • Self-driven engineer with a focus on clean code, maintainability and platform stability

Nice to Have

  • Experience with messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, MQ, Tibco)
  • Familiarity with pricing libraries or computational frameworks
  • Knowledge of cloud-native development or containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Exposure to Agile environments and continuous delivery pipelines
