The Company

Our client is a specialist management consulting firm partnering with leading financial institutions across Asia. For this assignment, they are supporting a top tier European CIB with a strong presence across APAC, which is undertaking a strategic initiative to enhance its regulatory reporting capabilities and streamline automation across its global operations.

The Team

You will join a cross-functional team working at the intersection of Operations, IT, Compliance, and offshore delivery units. The team is focused on delivering high-priority enhancements to reporting processes, automation initiatives, and governance structures to meet global regulatory and exchange requirements.

The Role

• Conduct gap analyses to identify weaknesses and improvement areas in current regulatory and exchange reporting processes
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to define, prioritize, and implement automation initiatives
• Support the design and implementation of data sourcing and transformation solutions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of regulatory data.
• Map end-to-end data flows, identify data quality issues, and work with technology and data governance teams to remediate gaps.
• Participate in defining target operating models for regulatory reporting processes and controls.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) – draft test scenarios, validate data outputs, and coordinate defect resolution.
• Collaborate with project managers to track progress, manage dependencies, escalate issues, and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
• Produce high-quality project documentation including process maps, reporting inventories, and risk assessments
• Track and report on project progress, risks, and dependencies

The Requirements

• 5 - 12 years of experience in business analysis within financial services, particularly in regulatory reporting or compliance
• Strong analytical skills and ability to deep dive into high-risk reports to identify actionable improvements
• Solid experience in UAT
• Experienced in HK Financial Regulatory Reporting, and in-depth knowledge in finance and accounting
• Familiarity with automation technologies and control frameworks within the regulatory reporting domain
• Comfortable in a hybrid role combining strategic oversight and operational execution
• Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
• Immediate availability is highly preferred due to project urgency
• Proficient in English, Cantonese/Mandarin speakers preferred
