Equity Front Office Site-Reliability Engineer (SRE)

The Company

A global financial institution with a strong presence in capital markets, investing heavily in technology to support and transform its Equity and Risk trading platforms across regions.

The Team

Part of the Capital Markets Tech organization in Hong Kong, the team supports Equity platforms (trading, pre-trade, post-trade and risk) and works closely with global teams across Europe, the US, and Asia. The environment is international, fast-paced, and delivery-focused.

The role

As an Equity Platform Support / Site Reliability Engineer, you will act as a guardian of trading and client service quality for the Equity platform in Asia. You will focus on production stability, monitoring, incident analysis and remediation, while driving improvements to the platform through DevOps practices, CI/CD pipeline enhancements and close collaboration with both regional and global delivery teams.

Requirements


  • Degree preferably in Computer Science.
  • C# experience desirable.
  • Experience supporting systems on Windows Server (Windows services, IIS, Scheduled Tasks).
  • Experience supporting systems on UNIX (general UNIX navigation, ability to read and understand UNIX shell / Perl scripts).
  • Support of SQL database-based systems: good SQL query skills, ability to read stored procedures, basic query optimisation.
  • Experience supporting large batch systems (typically Control-M).
  • Familiarity with monitoring systems such as ITRS Geneos and internal logging, monitoring and alerting frameworks (e.g. ELK).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory and Ansible.
  • Experience with container and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Good financial market and Equity business knowledge, including associated products.
  • Strong understanding of Equity front-to-back workflows.
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts succinctly to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience in IT development, application support or SRE within the financial industry.
  • Self-motivated, autonomous, strong team player, with good and synthetic communication.
  • Ability to work under pressure; meticulous, rigorous and a fast learner.
