The company

A well-established international banking environment in Hong Kong is looking to strengthen its Organization function, which drives cross-functional initiatives across the bank, including business transformation, workflow optimization, core banking enhancement, business continuity, and IT security coordination. The role sits within a team that partners closely with APAC and Hong Kong leadership and operates at the intersection of operations, risk, and change.

The team

The Organization team supports transversal projects and resilience-related initiatives across business lines and support functions, working with regional and local stakeholders as well as external parties. It plays a key role in implementing operational resilience requirements and improving business processes, procedures, and systems.

The position

We are seeking a Junior Project Manager & Operational Resilience Coordinator to support the implementation of the bank's operational resilience framework and coordinate business transformation projects. The role involves close collaboration with senior management, internal stakeholders, and regional teams, with a strong focus on regulatory readiness, process improvement, and project governance.

The role & responsibilities

  • Support the governance, development, implementation, and ongoing management of the operational resilience framework in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to local regulator requests and prepare progress updates for internal committees.
  • Monitor emerging regulations, trends, and threats related to operational resilience and business continuity.
  • Create, maintain, and update documentation, reporting, and framework materials.
  • Identify and map important business services and dependencies, including technology, people, facilities, and third-party providers.
  • Coordinate and lead scenario testing to validate recovery capabilities under extreme but plausible scenarios.
  • Monitor and assess critical operations resilience, recommending enhancements where needed.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, regional teams, and head office RMC teams.
  • Lead or coordinate projects, including business analysis, process review, and enhancement proposals.
  • Prepare workflow charts, gap analyses, and support project governance, UAT, and deployment activities.
  • Support any other ad hoc tasks assigned by management.

The requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Proven experience in operational resilience, business continuity, or a related field within a financial institution.
  • Good understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with risk management methodologies and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage resilience and continuity frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior executives.
  • Experience in incident response, crisis management, and scenario testing.
  • Experience with third-party risk management in financial services.
  • Proactive, responsible, curious, fast-learning, critical-minded, and well organized, with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
