Purpose of the Role:
The Tobacco Sorter plays a vital role in maintaining the quality standards of tobacco processing by carefully inspecting, grading, and sorting tobacco leaves according to established criteria. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work flexible hours to support production demands and ensure timely processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine and sort tobacco leaves based on size, color, texture, and quality standards.
- Remove foreign materials or defective leaves to ensure only high-quality tobacco proceeds through the process.
- Operate within safety guidelines and follow hygiene and handling protocols.
- Accurately report quantities sorted and any discrepancies or quality issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Coordinate with other team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Adapt to shifting workloads and changing schedules as required by production demands.
Qualifications:
- Must be a high school graduate or have completed college-level education.
- Must be physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
- Normal color vision is required to effectively assess tobacco leaf quality.
- Must be willing and available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on production schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
