Agronomy Field Assistant

Purpose of the Role:

This role ensures farmers awareness on the STP and Package of Technology through the conducted farmers training. Provides technical assistance during field monitoring on the implementation of the POT among farmers to come up with a better yield & quality and monitors the compliance to STP. Aids on the development of new technology on proper trial implementation and data collection.

Here's how you would make an impact:

• Assists on the conduct of site evaluation on seedbed and expansion areas as requested by the Growing Operations personnel.
• Assist in STP and Technical Trainings to Farmer Leaders, Farmers and Seedling Growers/FBA in cooperation with the GO personnel.
• Provides technical assistance and monitors STP implementation to the Seedling Growers during seedling production and to farmers during field production to their respective areas.
• Monitors all trials in seedbed/field and conducts data collection.
• Collects soil, water and tobacco leaf samples as required by STP.
• Submit reports to Agronomy Associate/Agronomy Supervisor.
• Attends weekly meetings with Agronomy Supervisor for updates and discussion pertaining to field activities concerns.
• Gather necessary documents for STP as required by customers.
• Conducts unannounced visits to farmers, report non-conformities, prompt action issues and violations of the ALP principles if there is any.
• Conduct parallel data collection through farmers/ workers interview verifying GOs data to establish accuracy.

Here's what we're looking for:

• A degree in Agriculture, Business, or any related technical field.
• Must possess a valid Drivers License.
• Recent graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Demonstrates a high level of commitment to the role, with a willingness to work beyond regular working hours when necessary.
• Open and flexible to assignments across any of the Growing Operations Areas, particularly in Isabela, as required by the company.
