Purpose of the Role:

Conducts and implements data-gathering activities in assigned areas. Performs regular maintenance of weather stations.

Here's how you would make an impact:

• Conducts regular in-house and field surveys to update external research data/information.
• Compiles and reports relevant competitor and/or market activities during implementation of field surveys.
• Updates ULFS (Universal Leaf Farm System) Competing Crops Monitoring Report and maintains other External Research Databases.
• Ensure accurate and reliable weather data through regular maintenance of weather stations, vital for informed decision-making in tobacco cultivation, by performing the following functions:
• Checks batteries and ensure a stable power supply.
• Inspects wind direction, wind speed, and voltage sensors to confirm proper operation and detect power issues.
• Verifies the functionality and data storage of the data logger.
• Inspects the rain gauge for accurate precipitation readings.
• Ensures temperature and humidity sensors provide precise measurements.
• Confirms correct data transmission from the station to the database.
• Conducts visual inspections to identify and address potential issues early.
• Coordinates and team up with other Supervisors in ensuring operational readiness such as availability of PDS (Post-delivery Survey) forms necessary during buying operations.
• Conducts orientation for PDS interviewers on form content and procedures.
• Monitors PDS interviewer performance within assigned areas.
• Collects data from surveys, interviews, and relevant offices.
• Validates farmer data for accuracy and consistency.
• Ensures completeness and relevance of data for research projects.
• Maintains and troubleshoots curing barn temperature monitoring devices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the superior from time to time.

Here's what we're looking for:

• Graduate of Business Administration, Marketing, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related disciplines that support analytical, operational, or market research functions.
• Prior experience in administrative, secretarial, or clerical roles, including research, records management, data encoding, and documentation, is an advantage.
• Proficient in research methodologies and data-gathering techniques, and adept in statistical analysis and interpretation of data.
• Ability to communicate effectively in local dialects to facilitate field interviews and community engagement.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
• Adaptable to dynamic work environments and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Demonstrates integrity, diligence, perseverance, and a strong work ethic.
