About the job Investment Analyst

JOB SUMMARY: To prepare investment portfolio reports as required for regulatory and management reporting. To prepare monthly investment related entries and upload files as required by group investment reporting. To actively participate in various investment related projects.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare/Update the SAA for discussion with RIM
  • Coordinate investment data requirements from Third Party Asset Managers (TPAM)
  • Prepare investment related requirements for regulatory and internal management reports
  • Prepare Investment schedules for the Strat Plan (SP)
  • Monitor compliance with various GHO/GARO/internal guidelines on investment limits
  • Prepare investment data for upload to Regulus
  • Prepare materials for reporting to the IC, and escalate matters for notifying or approval by IC
  • Actively participate in various investments projects (e.g. IFRS 9, Process Controls, and Investments data preparation automation)
  • Stay updated on latest economic and market conditions
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with market players and TPAMs
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Investments

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University graduate with a degree in Accountancy or Business courses major in Accounting
  • 3-5 years in similar or related function
  • Certified Public Accountant License

SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Functions in Insurance company Knowledge and understanding of the functions in the company and how the businesses work; knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, and information affecting business and organization; aware of competition and strategies and tactics in the marketplace.
  • Technical Knowledge and experience An understanding about how accounting in Insurance and the ability to design an appropriate and relevant analysis and system to effectively implement, using systems, processes and tools
  • Work process analysis & improvement Understanding of how process function and interact, investigate options for achieving improvement and make recommendations in improving and redesigning the processes currently in operation
  • Agile Investment Planning Ability to identify the priorities of investing in different initiatives, including budget amounts, parameters and sequence of activities using Agile applied to budgeting and demand management
  • Business Intelligence & Data Analytics Ability to manage enterprise information (data, technology, tools, techniques, people, processes) to support decision-making, predictive analysis, optimization efforts and security analysis through ad-hoc analysis, standard reports, scorecards and dashboards and interactive visualizations
  • Implementing Policies Ensures that new policies are understood and taken seriously. Communicates new policies and procedures to employees, supports them with adequate and timely resources and monitors actual practices in a manner that makes it clear that full compliance is expected. Avoids behavior or communications that might send a mixed message about the importance of new procedures or suggests that full compliance is optional.
