What the role is all about:

Job Brief

The purpose of this role is to develop Content for iProperty.com.my owned channels which include its website and social media. His/ her daily tasks include researching, planning, producing, monitoring and reporting the content’s performance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create content that provides in-depth information on the legal, financial and investing aspects of real estate. To keep updated with current issues in the property market and to seek out experts/contacts for input where necessary.
  • Work closely with external contributors and in-house data team to produce content that will drive audience growth for the following owned channels:
    • www.iproperty.com.my/news
    • www.iproperty.com.my/guides
  • Manage deadlines and work closely with the Content Manager and SEO Manager.
  • Sub-editing (validate and fact check information before a story is published) and proofreading as and when needed.
  • Incorporate SEO best practices including but not limited to keywords research, PAA research, incorporating tags, linking and reoptimising articles.
  • Research on topics relevant to iProperty.com.my’s audience and deliver in a variety of content formats, including and not limited to web articles, infographics, quizzes, etc.
  • Source relevant images to accompany editorial content.
  • Responsible for content distribution on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, EDM and similar.
  • Frequently monitor the performance of published content.
  • Monitor related industry(ies) and competitor’s activities in content.
  • Assist the Content Manager to find storytelling opportunities in press releases and relevant news pieces from partners, clients and news outlets.
  • Tackle assignments with daily directions from the Content Manager– including general administrative tasks.

Qualification and Experience

  • University degree graduate in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related discipline.
  • 1 – 2 years on the job experience in writing.
  • A plus if the candidate has:
    • o written for blogs or online publishers before
    • o used Facebook and similar platforms for content distribution

Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience in persuasive writing, storytelling, and informative writing
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English, preferably with a focus on digital content. It is a plus if he or she can communicate and write in Malay or Chinese.
  • Good computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiar with WordPress – Content Management System.
  • Ability to solve problems independently under time constraints.
  • Basic understanding of SEO – know-how to research new keywords/ phrases and optimise web articles to drive search/ organic traffic.
  • Passionate about effective content marketing. Have some knowledge in Social Media and Digital Media.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to openly collaborate, verbally communicate and accept constructive feedback.
  • Ability to understand our products and customers’/consumers’ needs, and translate that knowledge into content that resonates with our audience.
  • Strong desire to grow and learn, both professionally and personally, in ways that will enhance job performance.
