Our current client is a young and rapidly growing B2B IT solutions company, providing software improvements, maintenance, and technical support to ensure seamless operations for their corporate clients. On their behalf, we are looking for a Senior Virtualization Engineer. If you are curious about this exciting opportunity, then this might be the chance you have been waiting for!
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain virtualization infrastructure based on Linux and KVM;
- Build and manage clusters, including high availability (HA) and failover setups;
- Work with storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and distributed storage
- Operate and optimize Proxmox VE environments (or transition from other platforms);
- Troubleshoot performance issues across compute, storage, and networking layers;
- Plan and execute migrations (e.g. from VMware-based environments);
- Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams on infrastructure improvements.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar technical role;
- Strong experience with Linux in production environments;
- Hands-on experience with KVM;
- Solid understanding of virtualization concepts; clustering and high availability and infrastructure troubleshooting;
- Experience working with storage systems (SAN, NAS, or distributed storage);
- Ability to debug performance issues across the stack (CPU, memory, storage, networking);
- Experience with Proxmox VE in production or with home lab or self-hosted environments; Experience with: Ceph and ZFS; Background with VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V; Infrastructure automation (Ansible, Terraform, etc.); Networking fundamentals (VLANs, bonding, basic SDN concepts).
