We're on a mission to develop an AI-powered storytelling app for kids, blending creativity, education, and entertainment. Our app empowers children to narrate stories and bring them to life with AI-generated visuals, fostering literacy and imagination.

Were seeking a seasoned Fractional CTO to lead the technical development of our MVP. This role is ideal for someone with experience in AI integrations, a proven ability to manage outsourced teams, and a passion for delivering innovative products efficiently.

Part-Time Contract (1015 hours/week during MVP phase, with potential for long-term collaboration)

Salary: Competitive (Negotiable based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership:
  • Architect the technical framework for the app, ensuring scalability and efficient integration of AI tools (e.g., Stable Diffusion, Google Speech-to-Text, OpenAI APIs).
  • Define the tech stack and establish coding standards.

  • Team Assembly and Oversight:
  • Hire and manage a team of outsourced developers, including roles like:
  • Frontend Developer (React Native/Flutter).
  • Backend Developer (Node.js, Python, or similar).
  • AI Specialist (for speech-to-text and image generation).
  • UI/UX Designer.
  • Coordinate and monitor team progress, ensuring alignment with the project roadmap.

  • Project Management:
  • Develop and maintain the project roadmap, milestones, and timelines.
  • Track progress and resolve any technical challenges to ensure delivery within the MVP timeline.

  • Strategic Insight:
  • Provide input on long-term scalability and technical strategies for post-MVP phases.
  • Collaborate with the founder to align technical decisions with business goals.

Ideal Candidate

  • Technical Expertise:
  • 8+ years of experience in software development and technical leadership, preferably in startups.
  • Strong knowledge of AI/ML tools and APIs (e.g., Stable Diffusion, OpenAI, Google APIs).
  • Proficiency in backend and frontend technologies, such as Node.js, Python, React Native, or Flutter.
  • Experience designing scalable architectures for mobile apps.

  • Outsourcing and Team Management:
  • Proven experience in hiring and managing remote/outsourced developers across multiple roles.
  • Ability to evaluate developer skill sets and ensure high-quality deliverables.

  • Project Management:
  • Track record of delivering MVPs on time and within budget.
  • Familiarity with Agile development and modern project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).

  • Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-solving mindset, with a focus on balancing quality and speed.
