About the job Import Operations Coordinator
Roles & Responsibilities
-Order processing, handling Import Documents
-Performs checking of all documents
-Coordinates with suppliers and customers on instructions, documentation requirements and payments
-Coordinates cargo delivery according to customers requests
-Monitors shipping schedule and update goods delivery
-Handles all brokerage documentation queries regarding shipments.
-Submits required sales and purchase document to customers
-Prepare insurance certificates for shipments which customers requested to be insured.
-Maintain records: Keep comprehensive records of all import and export -transactions, including shipping documents, licenses, and compliance documentation for audit purposes.
-Cost optimization: Identifies opportunities to minimize import and export costs through efficient optimal routing and consolidation of shipments.
-Coordinates with internal departments: with sales, purchasing, finance, and warehouse teams to align import and export activities with business goals and objectives.
Required Skills
-Strong knowledge of import and export regulations, customs procedures, and international trade practices.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple shipments and prioritize tasks effectively.
-Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in document preparation and compliance with regulations.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
-Strong communication and customer service skills
-Proficiency in using import/export software, customs clearance systems, and MS Office applications.
-Analytical skills to assess import/export costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize supply chain operations.
-Problem-solving skills to address issues related to customs clearances, shipping delays, and trade compliance requirements.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
1.Proven experience (2-3 years) in import operations, preferably in a similar role.
2. Knowledge of Incoterms
3. Experience in working with shipping lines, customs brokers, and other third-party logistics providers.
4. Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics principles.
