Job Title: Sheet Metal/ Plumbing Superintendent

Location: DFW Metroplex, TX (On-site)

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sheet Metal/ Plumbing Superintendent who will be responsible for overseeing commercial construction projects and will be managing project needs including but not limited to materials, personnel, schedules and communication with project management teams, customers and building officials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures project quality and professionalism: Possesses strong trade knowledge, maintains a positive attitude, and represents the company professionally to customers and employees.
  • Proficient with project documentation and coordination: Has a working knowledge of project schedules, submittals, contract documents (addenda, specifications, drawings), and in-house shop drawings, utilizing them for on-site coordination with other trades.
  • Manages comprehensive electronic reporting: Diligently processes daily reports, next week plans, accurate as-built drawings, accident reports, and disciplinary reports.
  • Oversees large-scale commercial mechanical projects: Capable of running and managing significant plumbing, piping, sheet metal, and/or insulation construction projects, including simultaneously overseeing multiple job sites.
  • Skilled crew and trade coordination: Proven experience managing multiple crews (from Foreman to Apprentice) and effectively coordinating with other trades to complete the mechanical scope of work within the project schedule.
  • Accountable for safety: Responsible for the safe performance of all personnel and equipment on assigned job sites, conducting safety meetings and audits to proactively prevent unsafe acts and situations.
  • Proactive planning and resource management: Demonstrates proven ability to plan ahead, understands project flow, and can effectively communicate current and future labor needs to operations or project managers.
  • Tool policy adherence and training: Understands and complies with company tool policies and can effectively pass these values to less experienced employees.
  • Hands-on installation capability: Able to install systems and related materials using hand and power tools as needed.
  • Active project representation: Attends weekly job site meetings, representing the company on project schedules and work execution.
  • Works at heights safely: Capable of working from ladders, manlifts, and other equipment at various heights.
  • Daily site presence: Walks project sites daily.
  • Strong leadership capacity: Able to lead a crew of up to 40 installers across multiple job sites.
  • Adheres to company policies: Knows and consistently maintains company policies and procedures with all supervised employees.
  • Executes additional duties: Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Extensive Commercial Plumbing Project Management: Possesses 5 years of experience running and managing commercial plumbing construction projects, including those valued from $2 million to $8+ million.
  • Proven Personnel Supervision: Experienced in overseeing all job site personnel, from foremen down to apprentices and helpers.
  • Proficient in Electronic Documentation: Capable of completing all required project documentation electronically.
  • Master License & OSHA 30-Hour: Holds a Master license in the trade for the corresponding state (preferred) and possesses the required OSHA 30-Hour certification.
  • Strong Aptitude & Attitude: Demonstrates mechanical aptitude, mathematical, and English language skills, maintaining a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude with strong self-motivation.
  • Safety Leadership: Consistently complies with and actively promotes the company's Safety Policy.
  • Exceptional Communication & Leadership: Exhibits excellent communication and customer service skills, along with a proven ability to lead, teach, and coach a team.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Capabilities: Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical & Functional Requirements: Able to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Blueprint & Layout Familiarity: Familiar with blueprints, schematics, drawings, and other equipment layout materials.
  • Pre-Employment Clearances: Able to pass a full background screening, drug screening, MVR check, and a physical ability test.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willing and able to travel for projects as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
