A well-respected pediatric practice in Far Rockaway is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its growing team. This position will begin on a part-time basis with evening hours and Sundays and offers the potential to transition into a full-time role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pediatric patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions
  • Perform well-child visits and preventive care services
  • Monitor growth and developmental milestones
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests as appropriate
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with applicable regulations and scope of practice
  • Educate parents and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, preventive care, immunizations, and healthy childhood development
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation within the electronic medical record system
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold clinical best practices
  • Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care to children and families

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current NP or PA certification
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting
