Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to and supports the corporate Enterprise Container Strategy by Identifying ideas to improve system performance and impact availability.
  • Manage the container platform ecosystem (installation, upgrade, patching, monitoring)
  • Assist in change management of container platform for new versions of Tanzu / OpenShift, Hotfixes, SysAdmin tasks, etc.
  • Cluster capacity management and provisioning through automation of underlying hosts
  • Provides L3 engineering support
  • Works with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing.
  • Authors/edits system documentation/playbook(s)
  • Partners with experienced team members to develop accurate work estimates on work packages.
  • May serve as a mentor on procedural matters to less experienced internal and third-party team members.
  • Additionally, understanding application development lifecycles as well practical experience in working with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools as part of the container lifecycle will be useful.

Professional Skills/Experience:

  • A relevant university degree with at least 5 + years of relevant working experience.
  • Expertise with the Tanzu / RedHat OpenShift Container Platform.
  • Expertise with Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in RedHat Linux administration
  • Experience in Infrastructure provisioning with VMware ESX enviornment, monitoring with Prometheus and Ops
  • Experience intergrating with Elastic stack.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high demand environment
  • Experiences working on container administration (e.g. Docker) and DevOps technology deploying on VMware infrastructure and Public Cloud (e.g. AWS and Azure).
  • RedHat certifications in Linux and CKA / OpenShift administration preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform is preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong customer service awareness and orientation
  • Ability to establish new standards for quality, performance or productivity
  • Must have excellent writing and communication skills, strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, contractors, managers, 3rd parties, and customers as needed
