Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Linux / Unix Support Engineer to support business-as-usual (BAU) operations and technical tasks in a production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix systems, Oracle SQL, shell scripting, and system monitoring tools. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform BAU support and operational tasks in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, and database-related issues.
- Develop, maintain, and execute Shell scripts to automate operational processes.
- Write and optimize Oracle SQL and MySQL queries for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Monitor system health and performance using Zabbix and respond to alerts.
- Manage source code repositories using GitLab.
- Work with JFrog for artifact repository management and deployment support.
- Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system stability and service availability.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and support continuous operational improvements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Linux/Unix system support or a similar technical support role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix commands and administration.
- Proficiency in Shell Scripting (Bash/Korn Shell or similar).
- Strong knowledge of Oracle SQL and MySQL query language.
- Experience working with GitLab for version control.
- Familiarity with JFrog artifact repository.
- Experience using Zabbix for system monitoring and alert management.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple support tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting production environments with high system availability.
- Knowledge of deployment and release management processes.
- Familiarity with incident management and IT operational best practices.
- Experience with automation and operational process improvements.
