Extrusion Operator
About the job Extrusion Operator
We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals who have a mechanical aptitude and the ability to work a 12-hour, rotating schedule.
Pay Rate: $18 per hour
Responsibilities
- Sets-up and operates extrusion machine to produce high quality product
- Monitors and records machine temperature, gauge settings and die openings
- Monitors the color, dimensions, and uniformity of the material, making necessary adjustments to meet customer requirements
- Changes jets, tees, and wipe packs as necessary
- Inspects finished product to ensure production quality
- Performs light maintenance on machine when needed
- Monitor equipment operation, gauges, and panel lights to detect deviations from standards & adjust gauges, PLCs, and all other operational controls, to correct deviations
- Adjust controls in order to activate, set and regulate equipment according to specifications
- Do various lab techniques and sampling
- Able to hook up CIP lines to cyclones, transitions, and fluid bed properly
- Record gauge readings, test results, and shift production on quality and production documentation
- Transport materials and products to and from work areas, manually, or by pallet jacks and forklifts
- Weigh or measure specified amounts of ingredients or materials for batching, using devices such as scales and pumps
- Clean, lubricate and maintain a sanitary condition of all processing equipment, utilizing chemicals, automatic and manual cleaning equipment
- Conditions include exposure to constant or intermittent noise
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must speak English
- Must be able to pass a 7-year background check
- Must be able to pass a 5-panel saliva drug panel
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be over the age of 18
- Must be able to read and understand computer screens
- Must be able to perform a variety of math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
- Must not be afraid of heights
