KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)

  • Support the drilling operation in the compliance with HSSE and Government regulations through the provision of relevant information needed for the purpose.
  • Present and respond to queries from the Environment Impact Assessment Technical Committee in order to satisfy them.
  • Follow and implement all processes are carried out in line with company policies, procedures and regulations and international standards in order to ensure a safe working environment so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of drilling activity to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Costs and Budgets and AFE

  • Create Authority for Expenditure (AFE) for the wells.
  • Develop Supplement Authority for Expenditure (AFE) for the wells as required.
  • Daily well cost tracking.

Well Planning

  • Ensure all well designs are in compliance with company standard.
  • QA/QC of well paths.
  • Risk assessment of each well, including but not limited to anti-collision risk.
  • Collect and analyze well data received from geologists, geophysicists, and business partners in order to develop well design in line with well design of company standard.
  • Liaise with subsurface department for the entire cycle of well planning. Consolidate targets, coordination with contractor well planner for draft and final well path.
  • Develop the Drilling program to guide the implementation of field activities such as drilling, casing, cementing, logging & completions.
  • Updates and maintain Generic drilling programs.
  • Plan new well designs according to company drilling standard and the well examination process.

Drill Bit Selection

  • Obtain the formation profile from the Geology and Geophysicist department in order to select the Bit.
  • Select the right bit for drilling based on the rock formation to enable effective drilling
  • Provide vendors with the Bit specifications in order to obtain quotations and then review it internally to select the bit.

Cementing

  • Obtain the formation profile from the Geology and Geophysicist department in order to select the correct cementing program.
  • Provide business partner with geological information for provision of cementing program.
  • Equipment Sourcing
  • Provide the SCM department with equipment specifications and quantity in order to create a purchasing requisition.
  • Coordinate with subsurface department and prepare for long lead equipment procurement as required.
  • Facilitate equipment transfer from other entities.

Evaluation Action Review

  • Provision of Quality of End of Well Reports (EOWR) in timely fashion.
  • Prepare ad-hoc After Action Review on new technologies or problems encountered and lessons learnt to guide future action programs.
  • Support development of PowerPoint presentations for TCM, TECOM for the Wells Delivery Manager.
  • Maintain and update lessons learned database.

Contractor Management

  • Provide initial technical evaluation of vendors to the Procurement department/Drilling Team Leader or Drilling Manager in order to ensure that the most qualified, competent, and cost-effective vendors are selected
  • Provide initial recommendations of vendors to the Procurement department/ Drilling Team Leader or Drilling Manager for competent and cost-effective vendors.
  • Monitor contractor performance against contract.
  • Monitor contract/scope structure and implement changes/updates ahead of re-tendering activities.
  • Organize periodic SQM as per contract duration.
  • Timely follow up and close out with problems with Undesired Event Report (UER).

Reports

  • QA/QC of Daily Drilling Report (DDR)
  • Facilitate periodic reports for management update.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge:

  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent. Background and training in Drilling Engineering are preferred.

Experience:

  • Total of 8 years experience in E&P Drilling function. Minimum of 2 years of direct exposure to Drilling Engineering Design, Programming and/or Drilling Operations, including at least 1-year rotational experience offshore as a Rig Engineer, Rig Supervisor and/or 4 years experience in field operations (upstream oil & gas, contractor).
