We are looking for an experienced leader to take the reins of our commercial finance team: one of the three big pillars of the Valiant Finance Sales floor. Youll be responsible for managing, developing and growing our team of commercial and development brokers to a market leading proposition. This is an exciting growth opportunity, with potential to make a material difference to the small business landscape in Australia.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy for the commercial & development team, aligned with Valiant Finances ambitious growth objectives.
- Lead Valiants commercial finance department: identifying, recruiting, onboarding, and managing a high performing team of finance brokers to monthly targets in our Sydney office
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., product, marketing, operations) to optimise and improve workflows and processes to improve broker performance and enhance customer experience
- Build and nurture strong, long term relationships with key bank and lender partners, acting as their primary point of contact at Valiant to support the team achieving their goals
- Develop and manage performance metrics and reporting mechanisms to track broker performance and identify improvement and coaching opportunities.
- Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes within the broker and commercial lending sectors.
What were looking for:
- 10+ years of experience in the commercial finance industry with 5+ years in a senior leadership role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire both internal and external stakeholders, and demonstrable success in building, managing, and scaling high-performing broker teams.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable plans for the broker channel.
- Exceptional relationship management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with external partners.
- Data driven mindset with strong analytical and reporting capabilities to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
