The Opportunity

Tethys Energy are now looking for a practical and motivated Solar PV Installer to join their growing installation team.

This role would suit someone with previous Solar PV installation experience, or someone from a hands-on trade background such as roofing, carpentry, electrical, engineering, construction or building services who is keen to build a long-term career in renewables.

You will be working on local domestic Solar PV and Battery Storage installations, supporting both the roofing and cabling elements of projects. The role is primarily site-based, with some storehouse duties including loading vans, unloading deliveries and managing site waste.

Additional training will be provided where required, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop further within the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing Solar PV systems on domestic properties
• Supporting with cabling and installation works on Solar PV and Battery Storage projects
• Working safely at height using appropriate tools and equipment
• Using hand tools and power tools confidently and safely
• Supporting the team with practical problem-solving on site
• Helping to load and unload site vans when required
• Assisting with deliveries, materials and site waste at the storehouse
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and site presentation
• Delivering a professional, approachable service to customers
• Working closely with the wider installation team to complete projects safely and efficiently

What We Are Looking For

• Previous Solar PV installation experience, ideally at least 1 year
• Alternatively, experience from a practical trade background such as roofing, carpentry, electrical, engineering or construction
• Confident using hand tools and power tools
• Comfortable working safely at height
• Strong practical problem-solving ability
• Full UK driving licence
• Based within an easy commute of Reading
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Pride in the quality of your work

Desirable Qualifications

• Solar PV qualification
• Working at Height certificate
• Manual Handling certificate
• Electrical or roofing background
• Battery Storage experience
