Job Title: Mechanical Technician
Location: Various port locations across Europe, with a potential for global projects.
Duration: 2 week rotations (starting beginning of February).
Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Mechanical Technicians for rotational projects on heavy-lift crane vessels. The work will be focused on sheave and wire rope replacement, with caliper brake reconditioning. This role is ideal for professionals with offshore experience who can perform specialised tasks efficiently and ensure operational safety and reliability. Day and night shifts will be required to meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sheave Replacement: Conduct precise removal and installation of sheaves, ensuring proper alignment and adherence to safety and operational standards.
- Caliper Brake Reconditioning: Perform maintenance and reconditioning on caliper brakes to ensure reliable functionality.
- Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety protocols, conducting necessary checks on serviced equipment.
- Documentation: Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including inspections, parts replaced, and adjustments made.
- Collaboration: Work closely with operations and engineering teams to minimise downtime and maintain optimal system function.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Offshore Experience: Prior experience in mechanical roles, specifically with sheave systems and caliper brake reconditioning, is preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in servicing mechanical systems, including sheaves and braking mechanisms.
- Certifications: Valid passport, offshore medical certificate, and offshore survival certification (BOSIET/FOET).
- Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively in a time-sensitive environment.
- Physical Endurance: Capability to work extended shifts in offshore conditions.
Additional Information:
- This is a medium-term contract role requiring flexible availability, with mobilisation on short notice.
- The project will operate on a 24-hour schedule, with alternating day and night shifts for the assigned crew.
- Visas will be arranged by the client if required.
