The primary role of a financial modeling analyst revolves around constructing financial models utilized by management for resource allocation decisions and strategic responses to diverse financial scenarios. These professionals employ their expertise in mathematics, statistics, and financial analysis to develop these models.

  • Build financial models using historical data and provide forecasts based on various industry-related operating metrics.
  • Conduct scenario analysis based on macro and micro factors that will help in accessing risk.
  • Ensure accurate modeling of allocated portfolios, develop new transaction models, and enhance the existing models.
  • Recommend and implement a process for improvements to the budget and prepare forecasts for the company.
  • Identify the key financial and non-financial risks, recommending actions for mitigation of those risks.
  • Apply appropriate sensitivity and scenario analysis to support investment actions.
  • Update financial models during earnings seasons and following corporate actions.
  • Analyze and identify data requirements related to derivation rules and model tracking.
  • Valuation of Companies.
  • Capital Structure Analysis.
  • Comparable Company Analysis

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate with a bachelor's degree, preferably in mathematics, business management, economics, or accounting
  • at least 3 years of proven working experience as a Financial Modeling Analyst
  • Preferably CFA ( Chartered Financial Analyst)
  • Strong background in various finance areas like investment, banking, equity research, etc.
    Background in accounting, valuation, financial analysis terminology, best practices, and financial statements
  • Excellent excel skills or experience with similar spreadsheet software, including the use of charts, macros, and VBA
  • A keen eye for detail and an ability to sift through large data sets to extract meaningful information.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills, advanced analytical skills with experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating abundant information with accuracy.
  • Proficiency with statistics and dataset analytics
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, strong verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Tools and technologies: PowerBI, Tableau, MATLAB, Bloomberg, R, Phyton, and Microsoft Excel
  • Proven night shift experience.

Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Deep experience with managing budgets, ability to write reports and interpret data, ability to present findings in a polished way, entrepreneurial mindset, with an innovative approach to business planning.
