Recruitment Process
We aim to complete the recruitment process within seven to ten calendar days, unless impacted by month-end closing activities or candidate availability. We are hiring multiple team members for this role.
Throughout the recruitment process, were looking for professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, meticulous attention to detail, and outstanding communication skills. This role involves handling U.S. clients directly, requiring confidence, professionalism, and the ability to build trusted relationships. We seek individuals who are highly innovative, AI-driven, and committed to delivering top-tier client service and team leadership.
Steps in the process:
- Initial Interview (30 to 45 minutes)
A conversation to get to know you, your background, and your motivation for joining VargasAndrews. - Pre-requisite: Submission of a sample work or accounting portfolio
- Behavioral Interview (60 to 90 minutes)
An in-depth discussion focusing on real-life scenarios to assess communication skills, leadership style, client management capabilities, attention to detail, and your approach to innovation and problem-solving. - Technical Interview (60 to 90 minutes)
A rigorous evaluation of your technical accounting expertise, practical experience managing client relationships, and your ability to leverage modern tools and AI solutions to drive process improvements. - Pre-offer - Reference Check and IT Audit

About the Role
We are raising the bar for Senior Accountants. Were not just looking for technical accounting skills. We need confident, experienced professionals who can lead others, work directly with clients, and drive continuous improvement in processes and systems.
This is a client-facing leadership role that demands exceptional attention to detail, proactive communication, and strong relationship management. You'll be expected to manage people, oversee deliverables, and bring innovative ideas to the table, especially around automation and improving efficiency through advanced systems, including AI tools.

What You'll Do:
Leadership and Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with U.S.-based clients, ensuring clear, confident, and proactive communication at all times.
- Lead, guide, and mentor junior accountants to ensure high performance, accountability, and professional growth.
- Oversee workflow and task distribution across team members, maintaining quality and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Work closely with team members to identify and implement improvements in processes, structures, and systems, including leveraging automation and AI where appropriate.
- Drive a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and innovation within the accounting team.
Senior Accounting Work
- Manage the full accounting cycle (Order to Cash, Procurement to Pay, Record to Report) for multiple client accounts.
- Handle complex bank reconciliations, vendor management, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of weekly and month-end reports with impeccable attention to detail.
- Lead financial reporting, budget preparation, variance analysis, and deliver insights to clients and leadership.
- Oversee payroll processing, tax compliance, and audit support in line with U.S. accounting regulations and best practices.
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Support the recruitment of junior accountants by assessing candidates and participating in interviews.
- Facilitate onboarding and training of new hires, ensuring they understand tools, processes, and expectations clearly and confidently.
What Were Looking For:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- 5 to 7 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar leadership role, preferably in an outsourced or international setup
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, tax laws, and reporting standards
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to confidently manage client relationships and explain complex concepts with clarity
- Exceptional leadership skills, able to inspire and guide teams while maintaining accountability and high standards
- A sharp eye for detail and a structured, meticulous approach to problem-solving and reviewing work
- Proven ability to manage tight deadlines, multiple priorities, and team workloads in a high-pressure environment
- Experience in cost accounting is a plus
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is an advantage
- Experience using AI-driven tools or systems is highly desirable
- Must be amenable to a night shift schedule
Tools and Systems
- QuickBooks (required)
- Microsoft Excel (advanced proficiency required)
- Familiarity with automation tools and ERP systems is a plus
Additional Role Requirements
- Client Engagement: This role will handle clients in the U.S. It requires exceptional communication skills and confidence, as you will engage directly with clients in discussions that demand professionalism, clarity, and strong relationship management.

Compensation Range
$1,700 to $2,200 per month (All-In)
The final offer will depend on your qualifications and will be determined at the end of the full interview process:
- $1,700 for Senior Accountant Level 1
- $1,700 to $1,900 for Senior Accountant Level 2
- $1,900 to $2,200 for Senior Accountant Level 3
