About the job Press Setup Operator
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Setting up and operating punch presses and other factory equipment
Setting up, adjusting, aligning of auxiliary equipment which includes but not limited to; operate all press feeders for alignment to die and operate all straighteners for proper flatness to die
Performing daily Preventive Maintenance Check List
Tool kitting/staging for set-up reduction and increased press through put.
Inspecting product following CSLs procedures and instructions
Ensuring all appropriate equipment guarding is in place
Loading of coils onto un-coilers
Accurate record keeping and ability to use Shop Edge program
Complete all setups and first-off's with machine operators
Set up and trouble shooting of Linear Transfer Systems & Fingers
Able to troubleshoot/adjust sensors/auxiliary equipment/Smart-Pac
Follow 5S procedures and maintain supplied tools
Maintaining a clean and safe work area
All other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor/Lead Hand
Continuous run of press during break periods, covering for the regular press operator on identified equipment.
Initial Qualifications for Hire:
Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year experience in metal stampings or forming
Ability to operate Crane Independently and Safely to become Crane certified
Mechanically inclined
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Good communication skills
