Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance (Australian Taxation Office - ATO)

Oversee the preparation and filing of individual, sole trader, partnership, company, and trust tax returns in compliance with Australian tax regulations (excluding SMSFs).

Ensure accurate and timely submission of all tax documentation to the ATO.
Leadership and Team Management

Lead and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring high-quality output and professional development.

Provide technical guidance and support to team members on complex tax matters and accounting standards.

Oversee workload distribution, performance management, and training for junior staff.

Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture aligned with company values and goals.
Financial Reporting (Australian Accounting Standards)

Review and approve financial statements and management reports prepared by the team.

Ensure adherence to Australian accounting standards and internal reporting requirements.
BAS & IAS Preparation (ATO Compliance)

Supervise the preparation and lodgment of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), ensuring full compliance with ATO guidelines.
Superannuation Calculations

Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of superannuation liabilities for clients in accordance with regulatory standards.
Technology and Tools

Utilize FYI Docs for document management, workflow automation, and task tracking.

Proficient in accounting platforms such as Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks; Xero Certified Advisors are preferred.

Comfortable working with Google Workspace and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
Regulatory Compliance

Stay current with Australian tax laws, accounting standards, and compliance updates.

Ensure all accounting and tax practices remain compliant with ATO and ASIC regulations.
Other Duties

Demonstrate adaptability by taking on additional responsibilities as needed to support business goals and client satisfaction.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum 4-5 years of hands-on experience in Australian taxation and accounting.

Proven leadership experience, including managing teams or supervising accounting staff.

In-depth knowledge of Australian business taxation, GST, payroll, and superannuation compliance.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
-
Experience working in a remote or virtual environment is a plus.

Xero Certified Advisor is an advantage but not required.
