Overview

A leading international consulting and technology services firm is seeking an Senior SAP Director to support the growth of its SAP consulting business in Japan.

This role combines business development, pre-sales leadership, and delivery oversight, working closely with regional leadership and local teams to expand the firm's presence in the Japanese market.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing new client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and leading SAP transformation initiatives, including large-scale S/4HANA programs and rollouts.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Go-To-Market

  • Work closely with sales, pre-sales, marketing, and delivery teams to position SAP solutions and develop compelling value propositions.
  • Define and execute the go-to-market strategy in Japan in collaboration with regional leadership.
  • Support acquisition of new clients and expansion of existing accounts.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities while managing the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to deal closure.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior IT and business stakeholders.

Pre-Sales & Solutioning

  • Lead pre-sales engagements by understanding customer requirements and shaping SAP-based solutions.
  • Drive proposals, demonstrations, and bid responses with support from functional and technical teams.

Program & Project Delivery

  • Oversee delivery of SAP transformation programs and projects, including S/4HANA implementations and rollouts.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
  • Provide functional or process expertise where required.

Leadership & Organization

  • Lead and mentor team members and support their professional development.
  • Work with regional leadership to implement strategies that accelerate growth in the region.
  • Take increasing responsibility within the organization, including potential P&L oversight.

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in the SAP ecosystem, ideally within consulting environments.
  • Strong functional or technical SAP background with exposure to SAP transformation programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in pre-sales, client engagement, and project leadership.
  • Strong understanding of the SAP consulting market with an established professional network.

Education

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
