About the job Consulting Director - Japan ( SAP Consulting)
Overview
A leading international consulting and technology services firm is seeking an Senior SAP Director to support the growth of its SAP consulting business in Japan.
This role combines business development, pre-sales leadership, and delivery oversight, working closely with regional leadership and local teams to expand the firm's presence in the Japanese market.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing new client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and leading SAP transformation initiatives, including large-scale S/4HANA programs and rollouts.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Go-To-Market
- Work closely with sales, pre-sales, marketing, and delivery teams to position SAP solutions and develop compelling value propositions.
- Define and execute the go-to-market strategy in Japan in collaboration with regional leadership.
- Support acquisition of new clients and expansion of existing accounts.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities while managing the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to deal closure.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior IT and business stakeholders.
Pre-Sales & Solutioning
- Lead pre-sales engagements by understanding customer requirements and shaping SAP-based solutions.
- Drive proposals, demonstrations, and bid responses with support from functional and technical teams.
Program & Project Delivery
- Oversee delivery of SAP transformation programs and projects, including S/4HANA implementations and rollouts.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
- Provide functional or process expertise where required.
Leadership & Organization
- Lead and mentor team members and support their professional development.
- Work with regional leadership to implement strategies that accelerate growth in the region.
- Take increasing responsibility within the organization, including potential P&L oversight.
Candidate Profile
Experience
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in the SAP ecosystem, ideally within consulting environments.
- Strong functional or technical SAP background with exposure to SAP transformation programs.
- Demonstrated experience in pre-sales, client engagement, and project leadership.
- Strong understanding of the SAP consulting market with an established professional network.
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
