The Opportunity
A well-established regional consumer organization is seeking a Head of Finance to lead the full finance function for its Thailand operations. This is a senior leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for financial management, business planning, controls, and team leadership, partnering closely with the Country Managing Director and regional stakeholders.
The role requires a strong balance of technical finance expertise, commercial acumen, and leadership, operating in a matrixed regional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Management Accounting
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with group policies
- Analyze income statements to identify risks, cost-saving opportunities, and operational efficiencies
- Drive working capital improvements with focus on AR, inventory, DSO, and NWC optimization
- Ensure robust accounting processes and supervision of the local finance team
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecast processes in line with regional guidelines
- Provide management with timely, high-quality financial insights to support decision-making
- Evaluate performance against budget and forecast, highlighting variances and corrective actions
Strategy & Risk Management
- Deliver detailed financial and commercial analysis by country, customer, and business segment
- Act as a key finance partner in strategic initiatives, operating model decisions, and execution
- Identify key business and financial risks and develop mitigation strategies
Internal Controls & Governance
- Ensure strong internal controls, compliance standards, and financial procedures
- Implement and maintain best practices across finance operations
- Manage internal and external audit processes and follow-ups
People Leadership
- Lead, develop, and motivate the finance team to deliver functional objectives
- Ensure the finance organization is appropriately structured and staffed
- Build capability and succession within the finance function
KPIs & Success Measures
- Budget and forecast accuracy
- Timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting
- Inventory turnover and DSO
- Audit outcomes (internal and external)
REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance / Accounting
- MBA and/or professional accounting qualification (CPA or equivalent) preferred
Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in a senior finance leadership role
- Prior Big 4 training (3+ years) strongly preferred
- Experience in Retail / FMCG / Consumer-driven environments highly desirable
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of international accounting standards
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and reporting tools
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities
