About the Role
Vega Federal Solutions is hiring a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to define, model, and verify requirements for a national security software program in Richardson, TX. Vega is a St. Louis-based service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) delivering geospatial intelligence, secure automation, and national security software.

You'll work in an Agile, multi-disciplinary team and use model-based systems engineering (MBSE) in Cameo to turn requirements into well-designed, traceable features.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain SysML system models in Cameo Systems Modeler, including requirements, structure, and behavior views

• Develop, trace, and verify requirements, keeping traceability intact from stakeholder need through design to verification

• Execute Agile feature development, including requirements development and verification mapping

• Apply the Systems Engineering V across the lifecycle

• Work with software and DevOps engineers on software design, using the Cameo model as the shared source of truth

• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other disciplines to deliver features

• Communicate designs, trade-offs, and status clearly, in writing and verbally

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and at least 4 years of relevant experience

• Active TS security clearance, with ability to obtain SCI

• Security+ or CISSP certification

• Hands-on experience with Cameo Systems Modeler and SysML

• Experience with requirements development, tracing, and verification mapping

• Understanding of the Systems Engineering V

• Experience with Agile execution and feature development

• Software design experience

• Strong collaboration skills in a multi-discipline team

• Good oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building and updating a system model from scratch in Cameo, not just viewing or editing diagrams

• Experience with Cameo profiles and stereotypes, model governance, or shared-model collaboration (e.g., Teamwork Cloud)

• OCSMP or CSEP certification

• Systems engineering experience with Product Owner or leadership responsibilities

• Experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment

• Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and GitLab

• Experience using AI tools and Microsoft Office tools
