Compensation

• Mid-Level: up to $140K
• Senior: up to $190K
• Principal: up to $210K

All pay is based on experience.

About the Role

Vega Federal Solutions is hiring multiple Software Engineers at the Mid Level, Senior, and Principal levels. You will build and modernize full stack applications that support critical national security missions. We have several openings across different tech stacks, including Java and React, Python, and roles open to either Python or Java.

You will build web services, databases, and microservices on high impact systems for the Intelligence Community. These are hands on technical roles for engineers who want their code to matter. Senior and Principal engineers have done the work. Principal engineers can also lead a team.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and deploy full stack applications in your stack, along with web services, relational databases, and microservice architecture
• Contribute to agile development efforts
• Support CI/CD and test driven development practices (Senior and Principal engineers drive them)
• Work with your team and stakeholders to turn mission needs into working software
• Principal engineers lead agile efforts as a scrum or team lead

A qualifying degree is a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.

On top of that, you will need hands on experience in several of these areas: Python, Java, or React enterprise development; web services architecture; relational database design; spatial or NoSQL database design; microservice architecture; containerization and orchestration; API development; and cloud native development (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar).

• Mid Level: at least two
• Senior: at least three
• Principal: at least four

Senior and Principal engineers also need:

• Experience with CI/CD, test driven development, and automated testing
• Agile and lean experience: 3 or more years for Senior (scrum or team lead a plus), 5 or more years for Principal (including at least 2 years as a scrum or team lead)

Nice to Have

Experience building geospatial and GIS solutions, working with imagery products including SAR or RADAR, and developing terrain analysis, automated detection, or spatial analysis algorithms with tools like PostGIS, ArcGIS, or Oracle Spatial.

Clearance

An active TS clearance is required to start for all levels. SCI is highly preferred.
